Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN and is anchor for SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. Her first assignment with ESPN in 2016. Her daughter is television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was a bilingual since she was nine years old. It was a helpful ability that allowed her to secure her first position as a production assistant with Univision in Miami and gave her the opportunity to interact with producers of national programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then she was offered the position of a reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. Her move from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at one of the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. She covered stories about migration and trafficking of drugs throughout Texas and Mexico. The anchor also acted as a fill-in for weather and sports anchors. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. In that station, she was given greater work to do. She also covered events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason and finals FC Dallas as well. Additionally, she was the producer of Univision 23's local sports programming Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was promoted as anchor of sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The anchor also worked in a similar capacity as Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. In the past, they relocated towards Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. Her sister is also there. In 1992, her family quit Mexico and relocated to Miami. They divorced soon thereafter and, in 1995, she was married to a naval designer called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo was diagnosed with kidney cancer. It was on a time of summer when she was with her sibling at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured a job. Antonietta was the senior of her high school however, she was certain of her professional goals. She visited Mount Union University to find out if the school was suitable for her. As it turned out she was a fan of the university and they had the program she wanted. She graduated from high school and was accepted at the University to study media studies. Her instructor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU Radio and was student in her class, established a long-lasting relationship with her. He guided her to become confident and self-confident. His passion for journalism had a profound impact on her and she also tried to exceed the expectations of him and not let him down.
